Hip Hop HEADLINED @aclradio Blues On the Green for the first time EVER last night, and the energy was ELECTRIC.
Thanks to EVERYONE who shared this moment with us.It was a full circle moment to celebrate our time in this city.
Nearly 10 years ago, we opened for @shakeygraves on this stage, and it was the largest show ever to that date.
Last night was BIGGER than that by several thousand.
HIP HOP did that.
For MORE THAN A DECADE,RAS has stood up for underrepresented communitiesand voices when MANY were silent.
Our commitment meant that we took hits for being TOO BLACK or TOO LOUD about the clear biases and gaps in Austin's music scene.
Some folks reading this right now did the absolute best they could to keep us from reaching our goals as artists. But we always just let the ART and the ENERGY speak for us, and doors always opened, no matter what.
We always found a way to push forward.
TOGETHER.
Husband and wife.
Against the Storm.
Our push made this city better.
33 years is way too long to wait for an energy this great.
But we won't have to wait that long EVER again.
Thank you to everyone who supported all these years. We are here because you told us to KEEP GOING.

Our role as curators and incubators of talent isn't always discussed or brought to the light, but our work holds ECONOMIC, SOCIAL, and CULTURAL weight in the Austin.
Many may not know, but the @blackpumas first show ever was booked by @chakaseelect for a @rasdayfest showcase during @sxsw in 2018. This is when the grammy-award winning polymath first saw @fortemaestro perform, and the rest is history.
It's important that people understand the impact of holding these spaces for music, and creating repeated opportunities to showcase and develop the incredible talent that lives and breathes here in the 'Live Music Capital' BEFORE it reaches critical mass, or the attention it DESERVES on larger platforms.
We have done this over and over for years, and are a small ecosystem, providing jobs for hundreds of musicians and creatives annually.
This impact is real and worthy of celebration.
