Ride up Elbow Falls with me… single speed.
Completely forgot to charge my Shimano Di2 shifters before my inaugural road ride of the season up one of Kananaskis’ best climbs.
I’ve tackled this climb dozens of times with my dad, so a brutal headwind and one massive mechanical oversight weren’t stopping this ride. But those steady mountain grades definitely weren’t making it easy.
Still, there’s no better place to shake the legs awake after a long winter than Kananaskis. Snow-capped peaks, empty roads, and the kind of suffering that somehow makes you want to come back for more.
Highwood Pass this June, anyone?

Come with me to get outfitted for Calgary Marathon Race Weekend at @lululemon on 17th Ave. 👟
This one felt a little like coming home.
While it was my first time visiting their beautiful new 17th Ave store, it’s rooted in a place that means a lot to me. Before the move, this was the old 4th Street location — a store I once managed.
It’s also where I started @yycruncrew as the lululemon 4th Street Tuesday Run Club, and even before that, where I was a lululemon Run Ambassador myself.
Now, @funfrugalfridayrunners heads out from that same community with @iambthiessen, who also runs with YYCRunCrew and is now a Run Ambassador too.
Pretty cool to see things come full circle. Thank to @victorbrusin and the whole lululemon 17th Ave Team!
First turns at Nakiska this weekend.
Bunny hill lift ticket: $15
Mountain moments like this? Priceless.

I’ve had some unforgettable moments at the Olympics watching friends compete, cheering on athletes, and standing shoulder to shoulder with fans from around the world. For two weeks, we set aside differences, step out of the news cycle, and rally around stories of perseverance, courage, and hope. And we have our athletes to thank for that.
@teamcanada you’ve made us proud.
Watching Connor connect with these stories has made it even more meaningful. The meaning of sport is what we choose to see in it. I see resilience. Respect. Grace in both victory and defeat. And, of course, joy.
Here are a few favourite moments with my Olympic crew from Vancouver, London, Sochi, PyeongChang, and even Calgary.
Thank you athletes. You’ve inspired.

Valencia marathon, a birthday, a Studio 54 Christmas party, and some Korean Karaoke… and no voice.
Feeling grateful.

Marathons are a lot like life. They have their ups and downs. They can hurt, they can surprise you, and they can reward you.
But no matter how hard they get, if you keep moving forward, you are never out of the fight.

It’s that time of year.
There’s something kind of mystical in the Rockies when the sun hangs low in the sky all day. It’s like the whole valley is caught between sunrise and sunset. The kind of light that makes every trail feel a little enchanted.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign to get outside, this is it. See you out there.
