More than 50 artists will perform at BottleRock Napa Valley this weekend. Only one is a saxophone-playing Bigfoot.

His name is Saxsquatch. And he has cultivated a devoted following drawn to his smooth saxophone riffs, electronic dance beats, Pit Viper sunglasses and tongue-in-cheek mystique.

This weekend marks his first appearance in the North Bay. He is scheduled to perform Saturday afternoon on BottleRock’s HelloFresh Stage and headline a Friday evening “Cookout Concert” at HopMonk Tavern in Novato.

For Saxsquatch, the trip represents the fulfillment of a longtime ambition.

“One of my favorite things about this part of California is that you all have really great forests,” he said. “I hear the music fans are pretty good, too.”

Twenty-four hours before crowds stream through the gates of BottleRock Napa Valley, the 32-acre Napa Valley Expo is already in full motion.

But some of the busiest workers are nowhere near the stages.

Inside the Culinary Garden, Gerard Nebesky of Sonoma County’s Gerard’s Paella is unloading wheelbarrows filled with produce — cases of garlic, boxes of Freestone lemons, fresh arugula and sacks of onions — as his crew prepares to feed thousands of festivalgoers.

There are many good artists set to appear during the 2026 BottleRock Napa Valley music festival, which runs May 22-24 at the Napa Valley Expo in downtown Napa.

Humboldt County sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant at Miranda’s Rescue earlier this month, opening the first known criminal investigation into the nonprofit after two local women uncovered what detectives described as evidence of intentional dog killings and financial fraud.

In the affidavit supporting the warrant, Detective Julian Aguilera of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office wrote that he believed Shannon Miranda, the founder of Miranda’s Rescue, may have “murdered these dogs so that he could accept more from Oakland Animal Services for financial gain.”

A fourth airline is about to land at Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport.
