Happy bday, Mum. Love you!! 🥰

🥊 🤵‍♂️Quite the coincidence and a cool full circle moment.

I qualified as a professional boxing referee after 3 years of the trainee process recently.
Last weekend. I reffed my first event as a qualified referee in the same venue I retired in almost 3 years to the exact day.

It wasn’t until the end of the first round of my first fight I reffed on said event, that I realised that the first fight I took charge of as a qualified ref was against the last person I ever got to trade leather with as a boxer.

😞 Gutted! Honestly absolutely gutted to hear about Ricky Hatton passing !! Ricky was at the peak of his powers 2004/2005 just as I was falling in love with the sport of boxing. And quickly he became my idol! Id try to emulate his style when I was a young amateur, and his trademark left hook to the body became my fave punch to throw as well!!

A man of the people and a fighting style that excited me and audiences in the UK and in USA. And the crowds he’d pull to his fights would be electric! I was lucky enough to experience one Hitman Atmosphere in the MEN arena!

I was lucky enough to meet my idol on numerous occasions, even being in the opposite corner to myself and Richard for one fight at the famous York Hall. I couldn’t believe it when I saw him there and as soon as the final bell went I had to give him a hug and tell him he’s my idol!

But, one thing that will forever live in my memory is when, I was boxing on a boxing show in Coventry. I walked into the breakfast hall on the morning of the fight. Ricky was sat there and he said, “Poochi alright mate ! Wanna join me ?” I was buzzing that he knew who I was first and foremost and asked me to join him using my nickname! Kerry Kayes who worked with Ricky most of his career joined us shortly after and he called Billy Grahem who was Ricky’s long term trainer and I sat there and watched those three go down memory lane of the days that I assigned to myself falling in love with boxing !

Thank you for the memories Ricky! The boxing world, and myself will miss you and forever I will honour my love to boxing to you! 🥊🥊🥊

12 years ago, a young and in shape new professional boxer [Me 😂] solo traveled to USA. Made a stop in Vegas to do a few training sessions at the Mayweather Boxing Gym. In the midst of the Guerrero fight build up.

I didn’t get to meet Floyd (jr) or see him workout.But I did get a chance to meet @jeffmayweather and @floydjoymayweathersr

I even got a 8 rounds of sparring in with a few of the gyms prospects.
Also, the first time I met and spoke with @mayweatherchannel producer Jody Koln!

Good times !!
