I feel so grateful to my community! Seeing people’s first shows, watching the light turn on, that anyone can do this shit. Be in a band, release your own music, make shitty bootlegs, go on tour. That’s why we do this shit and it means the world to get to share it with all of you! These are genuinely fucking bleak times and leading up to pokeys I found myself pondering why I do it. For people like Chris Weirsema, the weirdos that have put their everything into this scene. That continues the legacy of Iowa city outside music.
