The world tells us girls are born equal. Then it quietly hands them a contract they never asked for 📝

A list of Terms and Conditions that limit girls’ rights, safety and opportunities.

At the current pace, women and girls will not see gender equality achieved in their lifetime. But this isn’t inevitable.

Thank you @iamlenaheadey for standing with us to challenge the unfair terms that girls never agreed to.

Together we can reject these contracts and change the conditions girls are born into. Because the plan is still on. Until we are all equal 🤝💙

Meet Amira. She’s helping to change the conditions girls are born into, one conversation at a time.

"My involvement with Plan International had a huge impact on me, as I used to be very introverted. I was afraid to interact with even the people closest to me.

Today, I am a completely different person. Plan International supports girls to address the problems and challenges that exist in communities. The activities I participated in have boosted my self-confidence and helped me to change my village.

One of the challenges is that young girls are often forced into early marriage by their parents. A family I knew was so convinced that it was the right thing to do and that it would cause no harm. However, after speaking to them, they realised that it was wrong.

As a girl, I should have all my rights. Society should not diminish these rights. We should all help each other, not humiliate each other. I think it is discriminatory when one group has certain rights and another group doesn't.

Girls need to be part of the decision-making process so that they can have a say in their future. Boys AND girls must play a fundamental role in the decisions made by society.”

Girls aren’t asking for special treatment – just fair terms.

And they’re not backing down. They’re organising, leading and demanding the futures they deserve. And Plan International stands fiercely beside them.

Because when we make the world a better place to be a girl, we make it better for everyone.

We love when girls exercise their rights.

But across the world, girls' rights are being rolled back and misogynist ideals are spreading.

And at the current pace, women and girls will not see gender equality achieved in their lifetime.

Together we’re changing the conditions. One clause at a time. Until we are all equal.

Girls never agreed to this.

They aren’t asking for special treatment – just fair terms. And a future without fine print.

With your help, every one of these terms can be rewritten.

We can change the conditions girls are born into. Until we are all equal.

The idea that girls’ and women’s rights have gone far enough is gaining ground. But the reality is they’re under attack.

This isn’t the time to get comfortable. It’s time to push on. Together 🤝💙

Think girls' rights have gone ‘far enough’? Well, we’re bringing receipts…

Unfair terms expire here.

The world tells us girls are born equal. But the truth is girls are still growing up under unfair terms – Terms and Conditions that limit their rights, safety and opportunities.

This isn’t just a campaign. It’s another way we keep the plan on track. Until we’re all equal.

Will you stand with us?

While Westminster is distracted by recent resignations, girls are still facing harassment, abuse and misogyny in their everyday lives - from public spaces to schools to online platforms actively amplifying harmful content.

Our research found that 8 in 10 parents worry about their daughters’ safety in public, underlining just how normalised fear has become for many girls growing up in the UK.

This moment must not derail action to tackle violence against women and girls. Government commitments must translate into sustained action, properly funded prevention work and meaningful protections for girls both online and offline.

Didn’t you get the memo? Fine print isn’t fashionable…

Girls are born into unfair terms they never agreed to.

Gird your loins. Because Miranda wouldn’t stand for it. And neither will we.
