We are excited to share in collaboration with our valued partners at @youthbuildvuk - a hands on workshop giving local women the tools, confidence, and knowledge to manage basic home repairs and explore new career pathways, ones they may never have considered before.

It will be an immersive learning experience - think tools in hand, sleeves rolled up and real life, practical stuff that you can take home and use the very same day!

Our estates services team had a busy animal rescue this past week! First, a bird took a tumble down a chimney on Ivorydown Road, but thanks to one of our operatives, it's safe and sound and back out flying around!

Then, a baby fox became separated from its family and ended up in one of our resident's gardens. Our Estates Services Manager, Micky, answered the call. Experienced with wildlife, Micky knew to place the baby in a cardboard box as the mother fox would reject it if she smelt human scent. We're delighted to say the mother came and rescued her baby -so it was a happy ending for all!

We know that disabilities affect people year round and are not just experienced in one specific awareness month. So, we're hosting bi-monthly workshops with topics decided by you as a group.

In May's workshop, we will be exploring support options for people who are experiencing loneliness or isolation.

There'll be two workshops on Tuesday 26 May, from either 10:30am–12pm or 5pm– 6:30pm, both held at The Barn at The Green Man, 355 Bromley Road, London SE6 2RP.

As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re pleased to let you know we will be delivering a free mindfulness session this Friday, 15 May 2026 from 11.00am–12noon in The Green Man.

Mindfulness can help reduce stress, improve focus, support emotional wellbeing and encourage a greater sense of calm and balance throughout the working day.

Yesterday, 11 May marks the start of Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK.

Mental health issues can impact anyone of any age. So that's why several young people from our #BEin youth leadership programme made this short film, titled "The Unseen", to raise awareness of mental health some young people struggle with.

The film highlights mental health issues and hidden disabilities that some young people find aren't taken seriously because of their age. The Unseen shows that often, we do not know what people are going through and just because someone is smiling does not mean that they are happy.
