I can't believe it's been this long, but 10 months after its festival debut at @filmpride , #NudeTriumphant has finally launched to the public! This gleeful yet poignant celebration of art, the body, and self-expression was one of my favourite projects I ever had the pleasure to work on with @figurationco . For #TransAwarenessWeek , I'd like to reshare this animation I worked on with @mermaidsgender . Trans representation, trans affirmation and the recognition of trans issues by the media and lawmakers are some of the most important hurdles we face in the fight for real gender equality and true belonging, and the first thing we have to do is look, listen, and platform the experiences of our trans siblings. Trans Awareness Week is important because it can be so so difficult for trans people to even face a world that doesn't recognise them, so by offering up our attention, our compassion, and our space freely for them to speak, and explore, and enjoy who they are, is more powerful than cis people could ever understand. All my love to trans people making themselves heard this week and every day - your existence is not a debate, and you deserve more than anything to be listened to and understood.

Nude Triumphant is a unique and remarkable film about what it means to fly by standing still, inspired by the experiences and insights of life model and writer @royjosephbutler . The film's captivating visual style comes from a process which combines frame-by-frame, hand-painted watercolour animation with modern compositing techniques, developed and finessed by artist and animator @leocrane77 . I helped storyboard and animate this film, alongside a wonderful team of artists from all kinds of different practices - poets, musicians, models, and clowns. It really is a love letter to art, creation, and collaboration, and the life it captures is infectious. Please tune in if you can - we hope it'll be unlike anything you've ever seen!

Minerva, Patria and Maria Teresa Mirabal, for whose memory this day was founded, were 3 revolutionary sisters whose radical lives and work under the oppressive regime of dictator Rafael Trujillo became symbols of feminism and freedom to the people of the Dominican Republic. Their tragic death at the hands of fascist violence sparked international outcry, and led to the dictator's downfall. Today they are remembered as 'Las Mariposas' (The Butterflies), after Minerva's codename, and their faces appear on Dominican banknotes.

Today (Wed 20th November) marks the #TransDayofRememberance 2019. This is a short anim/motion graphic I made for work to honour Christine Goodwin, a sadly departed trans woman and activist whose testimony to the European Court of Human Rights had a pivotal influence on trans workplace rights in the UK.

Have started making micro-animations at work to promote the stories of unsung heroes and inspirations with the hashtag #RevealingStories. This week I made one for independent animator Norman McLaren - this clip references his award-winning experimental piece Pas De Deux (1980), based on the dance of the same name. If you haven't seen I definitely recommend, it's a really striking piece!
