I was saddened to hear of Michael Tilson Thomas’s passing today on NPR Morning Edition.But I’m glad that he lived such a glorious and full life, right up to the end!
I was reminded of an evening in 2022 when MTT actually attended a performance I did with Nathalie Joachim at the LA Phil, the day after he had conducted a concert his own work. And he came backstage to congratulate us and posted this on his instagram! I was so honored!
