SOCIALISM WINS 🌹🌹🌹
NYC-DSA has been at the heart of Zohran’s campaign since day one. We were the first organization to endorse Zohran and have been the backbone of a historic field operation. Since Zohran’s primary win in June, Democratic Socialism has soared in popularity here and across the nation.
The unprecedented growth of our organization is a testament to our vision and our ability to inspire renewed hope and political engagement from the working class. Billionaires like Michael Bloomberg and Bill Ackman have tried to buy this election since Cuomo announced his campaign. It has been working people who have helped build the largest and most effective volunteer army in the country, with 100,000 volunteers knocking on over 3 million doors.
The job’s not done, and we’re not going to rest on our laurels. We’re going to mobilize our historic volunteer base to win Zohran’s agenda here in the city and elect working class champions at every level of government.

As a big tent organization, NYC-DSA has many different beliefs about the roadmap of our organizing. At our core, we believe in our power as workers to control the means of production and outnumber the capitalist class. Worker’s collective power comes from class solidarity and mass organizing which meets people where they are at and with what they need - a good wage, a safe workplace, affordable housing, safety in their neighborhoods.

The Not on Our Dime! Act is back. A coalition of New York based Palestinian, human rights, and labor organizations just gathered in Queens to re-launch the push to end New York tax breaks for organizations funding war crimes in Palestine.

For decades, NY-based organizations operating as “charities” have received non-profit tax breaks while sending tens of millions to fund Israeli military operations and violent settler expansion. During the height of the genocide, these groups openly fundraised for the Israeli military’s onslaught.

In effect, New York State has been subsidizing illegal settlement expansion and state violence against Palestinians.

The Not on Our Dime! Act makes that illegal. It’s the first legislation of its kind in the nation.

When Zohran Mamdani first introduced this bill as an Assemblymember, pundits called it political suicide. They could not have been more wrong — he went on to win the mayoralty. New Yorkers want representatives who are bold and uncompromising in their support for Palestinian rights.

Now Assemblymember Diana Moreno and State Senator Jabari Brisport are reintroducing the bill with three new co-sponsors and a powerful coalition including Adalah Justice Project, U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights Action, the Center for Constitutional Rights, Palestinian Youth Movement, Jewish Voice for Peace, NYC-DSA, UAW Region 9a, CIR-SEIU, Desis Rising Up and Moving, Jews for Racial and Economic Justice, and many more.

As Israel illegally annexes the West Bank and settler violence escalates, the call has never been clearer: New Yorkers do not stand for funding war crimes.

BREAKING: We’ve reintroduced now-Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s Not on Our Dime! Act to bar NY nonprofits from funding Israeli war crimes.

For decades, organizations registered as charities in New York have funded violent Israeli settler groups and military units involved in war crimes against the Palestinian people. Each year, while enjoying tax breaks from New York State, these organizations transfer over $60 million to the Israeli settlement enterprise. They operate with virtually no oversight and no accountability. War crimes are not a “charitable purpose.”

The @notonourdimeny Act seeks to end the practice of New York state-registered charities funding violations of international law in the West Bank and Gaza. The legislation was first introduced by @zohrankmamdani along with @jabaribrisport, and has been reintroduced in the New York State Assembly by @dianaforqueens.

New Yorkers have a basic responsibility to ensure that our tax dollars aren’t funding war crimes and human rights violations overseas. What New York-based non-profits do abroad is absolutely a matter for New York state government oversight.

Not Another Dime for Israeli War Crimes!

WE STOPPED 175-B!

The speaker did not have the votes to override the veto of 175-B. That’s a HUGE victory, and it’s no accident. Thousands of us rose up to make sure of it. That’s what organizing looks like.

Instead of listening from school communities and New Yorkers who want to protect the right to protest, TODAY the Speaker is moving to introduce a new bill that is still dangerous. It will STILL hand NYPD the power to suppress dissent at a time when New Yorkers are actively defending our school communities from fascism and ongoing ICE raids.

We’re watching, we’re staying organized, and we’re going to keep fighting back. It’s time to get rid of this proposal for good.
