Beginning the 2025-2026 school year, YES Prep Public Schools will be implementing House Bill 1481, which requires all public and charter schools in Texas to ban the use of personal devices during the school day. For secondary students, this includes items such as cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, laptops, earbuds, and other personal electronic devices.
We recognize this is a significant change for students and families. As we move forward, our shared goal is to foster a safe and focused learning environment.
At the secondary level, any personal device seen or used during the school day will be confiscated immediately and logged in DeansList. A parent or guardian will be required to pick up the device. Repeated violations may result in additional consequences, including detention, suspension, or loss of the privilege to bring a device to school.

This year, 14 YES Prep seniors earned full, four-year scholarships through the QuestBridge National College Match, opening doors to universities like MIT, Rice, Dartmouth, Wellesley, and more.
