Scroll through to enjoy Dean reaching to recover the solo to Stray Cat Strut on the very same Gibson ES-335 “Studio” that he played in Galaxie 500. I can attest that he nailed the solo when I wasn’t filming but I find these versions charmingly compelling. A guitar/painting trade was involved but rest assured Dean went home with his G500 Black Beauty. I first met Dean at a Galaxie 500 show in 1990 at the Kennel Club in San Francisco. I was just barely underage but got a press pass from Jeff Klindt at Thrasher Magazine. I wore a camera around my neck even though I didn’t really know how to operate it. We went backstage and Dean was kind to a nerdy young superfan. Now we’re both “dignified and old” but I’m still a superfan. @taqueriacuernavaca
