An example of this is the Talos project, funded by the European Union, which enhances border surveillance and security in the European context by using semi-autonomous robots.

Drawing on the experiences of choreographer, performer, and researcher Arkadi Zaidesโ€”with the TALOS projectโ€”and researcher, artist, and curator Margarida Mendesโ€”with her work in the Biaล‚owieลผa Forest, on the border between Poland and Belarusโ€”the reality of these liminal zones will be the subject of discussion in a conversation moderated by curator and writer Nora Oโ€™Murchรบ.

The 13 Scores Against Tech Fascism are situated in very specific contexts; they range from interview protocols exposing the absurd principles guiding tech company leadership, to speculative blueprints of a DIY rocket for disrupting the White Houseโ€™s Wi-Fi; from a step-by-step guide for turning tennis balls into protest devices to instructions for spamming the ICE hotline or even for using Trojan-horse tactics such as placing left-theory texts inside Jordan Peterson book covers in public libraries. More community-focussed project scores include instructions for producing and distributing mesh devices, and building alternative collective tech infrastructures; from open calls for joyful dance events to transforming recipes used to mask censorship into forms of community activation. Some projects show us easy tricks on how to make our texts too dirty to train large language models, while others build poetic tools for Taiwanese speakers to hide meaning from state sanctioned speech.

The scores operate as frameworks for action. They address intimate, everyday shifts or propose strategies meant to be shared, repeated, and adapted by others.

โœจ๐Ÿ‘ง๐Ÿฉฐ Triple Canopy and Feral File (@feralfile) are pleased to present StarQuest, an installation and performance-lecture by the artist Maya Man (@mayaontheinternet). Working with generative AI, Man has produced a video-based body of work that takes up the tropes and aesthetics of American competitive danceโ€”a swirl of ambition, discipline, and spectacleโ€”as well as the circulation of performance in the digital age. Drawing on Manโ€™s childhood experience as a competitive dancer, StarQuest restages the choreography and interpersonal dramas of the cult reality television series Dance Moms. In an ever-changing order, AI-generated dancers twirl across the screen and speak of their fears and foibles in faux confessionals, establishing an uncanny friction between authenticity and artifice.

๐ŸŒŸ StarQuest will be on view from 6 to 9 p.m.; Man will present an accompanying performance-lecture at 7 p.m., introduced by the curator Nora Oโ€™ Murchรบ (@noraomurchu). The performance will be followed by a conversation between Man and Rachel Ossip, Triple Canopyโ€™s deputy editor.

In the opening event of That's Hot, Ana Teixeira Pinto (Berlin), and Alex Quicho @amfq (London) explore the GIRL as an anti-fascist icon and influencer.

The internet is easy. Take a selfie, upload a meme, gain followers, repost, own everything. But being a goddess in the rising tides of networked polarisation, data monetization, and libertarian platform CEOs can be boring. Algorithmic patterns on repeat continuously reinforce a caustic hegemonic social order. Platforms relentlessly extract emerging behaviours matching half-formed desires with new markets, extending influence through rapid expansion and dispersion. Thatโ€™s all so low vibration.

But a girl can plot. With the metrics and logics of the digital long established, she must act under close watch, and her tactical subterfuge needs the many and not the few. Thatโ€™s Hot celebrates the possibility of a counter-swarm of political sedition and intellectual hostility.
