A quiet life in the city 🐾 Street cats live alongside us, yet many face a much harsher reality. Through his lens, #NikonCreator Ben Lo (@bulubulu_photography) hopes to document their stories and remind us to notice, to care, and to look a little closer.

"The Nikon Z9 is such a reliable camera. Even in low-light environments, it recognises subjects quickly and tracks focus accurately, making it perfect for photographing cats. As for the Nikon Z 135mm f/1.8 S Plena [lens]—the bokeh is honestly the most beautiful I’ve ever seen, and the autofocus is both fast and silent, perfect for night shooting!"

#NikonCreator Manuel Castro (@manuelc_ph) gifted himself the Nikon Z5II and headed to Niigata the very next day. He wanted to capture the contrast of heavy snow against everyday life in a small Japanese town, in the quiet moments shaped by weather, routine, and atmosphere. His first shoot with this camera made it even more special.

"The Nikon Z5II was my upgrade from the Nikon D3500, and the it exceeded my expectations straight away. Even in the heavy snow the autofocus worked perfectly, the colours came out beautiful and I didn't even have to worry about the snow as I knew the camera is weather sealed. I used the 24-200mm lens which gave me a lot of versatility, I could easily switch from street scenes to capturing details and close-ups without having to change lenses under the snow.
The Z5II paired with the 24-200mm is a perfect duo for capturing all shots, perfect for traveling and getting the best out of any scene."

Out on safari in Sri Lanka, NikonCreator Terence Szeto (@terence_wildlife ) was searching for leopards. Instead, he chanced upon a rare and elusive jungle cat. At first glance, it may look like a house cat, but it’s very much something different in the wild. A reminder that nature always has its own surprises.

"As it was an early morning, the light levels were very low, and the low light capabilities of the Nikon Z6III allowed me to film in these unfavourable conditions. Using 3D tracking autofocus also allowed me to track the cat as it was very skittish."

Chasing Light and Life with Jason is a 3-hour session held at Sentosa Nature Discovery, presented in collaboration with Sentosa and Earth in Focus Singapore Nature Film Festival.

You'll learn how to observe and anticipate moments in nature, photograph wildlife with confidence, and understand natural light so every frame feels alive — all while practising ethical photography that respects the environment.

Leading the session is Jason Loh (@lightstoriesbyj) whose work has been featured in exhibitions and recognised in competitions.

An unforgettable night in Höfn 🌌
An aurora alert went off during #NikonCreator Ying Sin's (@insynced ) road trip through Iceland, and she ran straight out of her hotel. Just behind it, the sky erupted in reds, greens, and dancing lights for hours. Easily one of the wildest nights Ying Sin ever filmed.

"Using the NIKKOR [Z] 14–24mm f/2.8 in Iceland felt easy. Even in near darkness, it consistently delivered sharp and consistent shots with reliable colours."
