Camped under the stars, made sandy pancakes on the beach, jumped off perfectly good cliffs, spotted a million animals, had many pus-filled bug bites, rafted down the rapids, played a lot of gin rummy, met great people and greater trees… we surfed, made cacao, stayed at a secret cult resort, let our bodies glitter in magic bioluminescence, I got the 4x4 stuck in a river in the middle of nowhere and ran barefoot to find help with google translate by my side and thought the trip was over but then was reminded the beautiful people of Costa Rica always have your back.
