Be sure to visit the Hahndorf Farm Barn to meet the animals before finishing the day at The Cedars to tour the beautiful former home and studio of famous landscape painter Hans Heysen.

This six hour tour includes incredible coastal scenery, fascinating stories from expert guides and the chance to step back in time as you walk alongside footprints left behind over 120 million years ago! To finish it all off, the tour includes sparkling wine and gourmet platters on board followed by cocktails and a five-course tapas meal at their waterfront venue back in Broome!

Peaceful nature walk near Melbourne 🍃🚂

Located just one hour from Melbourne in the Dandenong Ranges, the Emerald Lake and Lake Nobelius Loop is an easy 7km walk that’s pram, wheelchair and dog friendly! This scenic trail takes you through lush bushland, giant ferns and colourful autumn trees with plenty of native birdlife and the chance to see Puffing Billy steam past along the way! Starting at Puffing Billy Reserve in Emerald, the walk follows sections of the historic railway before leading you through Nobelius Heritage Park. Before long you’ll make it to the beautiful Emerald Lake Park where you can wander around the lake, stop for lunch at the Lakeside Visitor Centre and watch Puffing Billy arrive at Lakeside Station.

Gliding above the rainforest canopy on the Kuranda Scenic Skyrail is easily one of the most incredible ways to experience Tropical North Queensland. Stretching 7.5km between Smithfield and Kuranda, this unforgettable journey takes you over the ancient Wet Tropics rainforest with sweeping views across Barron Gorge and all the lush, layered scenery below. It is one of those experiences where the ride really is the main event and the higher you go the more spectacular it feels. One of the best parts is that it is not just one long ride from start to finish. Along the way you can hop off to explore Red Peak in the heart of the rainforest, then stop again at Barron Falls where the views out over the gorge are absolutely breathtaking. Even when the falls are not at full flow, the whole landscape is still so dramatic and beautiful from above. The full one way experience takes about an hour and a half including the stops, so there is plenty of time to slow down and enjoy it all properly. And if you want to make the day even better, catch the Kuranda Scenic Railway back to where you started for another iconic journey through the rainforest and past even more waterfalls.

One of the best coastal hikes in NSW 😍

If you are chasing a hike with a huge payoff, Tomaree Head Summit Walk is hard to beat. Set in beautiful Port Stephens less than three hours from Sydney, this steep coastal trail climbs up to an incredible viewpoint where you can look out over Zenith Beach, Shoal Bay, Stephens Peak and the sparkling coastline stretching into the distance. It is the kind of view that stops you in your tracks and somehow feels even more surreal in person! Although the walk is not very long, it definitely gets the heart rate up with plenty of stairs and a steady climb to the top. But that is all part of what makes it so worth it, because the higher you get, the more dramatic the scenery becomes. If you time it for sunrise, the whole place feels especially magical as the first light hits the beaches and headlands below. One of the other things I love about this walk is that there is more to explore than just the summit. Near the top you can also check out the historic World War II gun emplacements and once you finish the hike you are right by Zenith Beach which is the perfect spot to cool off afterwards. If you are roadtripping the NSW coast, this is one hike that deserves a spot on your list.

Located near Emerald Beach on the Coffs Coast, Look At Me Now Headland is one of those places that feels so uniquely Australian. This short and easy coastal walk winds through open grassy headland with sweeping ocean views the entire way but the real magic is seeing eastern grey kangaroos lounging and grazing right beside the sea. It is such a beautiful mix of wildlife and coastline and one of the most memorable stops to add to a North Coast roadtrip. What makes this walk so good is that it is accessible, scenic and surprisingly rewarding for such a short trail. The track is relatively easy and family friendly, with lookout points, beach access and uninterrupted views over Moonee Beach Nature Reserve. If you take your time, there is a good chance you will also spot birds of prey soaring overhead, and in winter and early spring this is even a great place to keep an eye out for whales passing by offshore. All up, it is the kind of walk that packs a lot into a short distance and is such a fun reminder of how special the NSW coastline can be.

What I love most is how varied this stretch of coastline feels. One day you can be watching sunrise from Smoky Cape or hiking out to Tomaree Head and the next you’re wandering through ancient rainforest, swimming in clear creeks, spotting kangaroos by the beach or cruising with dolphins in Port Stephens! Then there are places like Julian Rocks, Minyon Falls and Point Lookout in New England National Park that remind you just how much natural beauty is packed into this part of the state. Whether you are planning a full roadtrip or just looking for a few amazing stops to add to your list, the North Coast of NSW is one of those regions that never seems to run out of beautiful places to discover.

A special Earth Month close to home 🌏✨

This Earth Month, I teamed up with @natgeoau to celebrate one of Melbourne’s most incredible natural wonders, Port Phillip Bay. I think it’s easy to take this place for granted but beneath the surface is a thriving marine environment made up of seagrass meadows and massive kelp forests that support an amazing diversity of life. From globefish, banjo sharks and cuttlefish to dolphins, seals and even weedy seadragons, there is so much more living here than most people realise. On the weekend, I brought my hike club together for a sunrise walk along the Bay Trail where we teamed up with @3184beachpatrol for a beach cleanup along the foreshore. Together, we removed 5kg of rubbish from the coastline which felt like such a meaningful way to celebrate Earth Month. Not just by enjoying nature, but by doing something to help protect it too. Mornings like this are such a good reminder of how lucky we are to have places like Port Phillip Bay right on our doorstep. So whether it’s going for a walk, learning more about the wildlife around you, joining a local cleanup or making a small change in your own life, let this be your reminder to celebrate Earth Month and do your bit for the planet.

On a recent roadtrip from Brisbane to Sydney, I ended up catching sunrise at Point Lookout in New England National Park and honestly it was one of the most magical sunrises I have ever seen. Perched on the edge of the Great Escarpment, this incredible lookout offers panoramic views across World Heritage rainforest, with the ocean visible in the distance on a clear day. But what makes this spot even more special is the setting around it. New England National Park is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area and is known for its ancient rainforest, dramatic escarpment views and beautiful walking trails. If you are looking to explore more while you are there, the Cascades walking track is a great option, taking you past rainforest streams, waterfalls, giant king ferns and mossy boulders while nearby Wrights Lookout is another epic walk with sweeping views down towards the Bellinger River. If you are ever driving Waterfall Way then make sure you add this one to your list because the views are seriously unforgettable.
