Very happy to report that my Little Niece Elaiya is just as silly as ever, if not even more so 😌 #babygurls

I’ve loved, I’ve laughed, I’ve lost, I’ve learned a lot about myself, and I’ve lived, never once regretting moving here. Thank you to the many friends in CA who have helped make this my home, and to the family and friends from the Northwest who have visited over the years, making it all the easier to call LA home. I’m not exactly doing everything currently that I want to be, but I’m well on my way, and I’m happy with where I’m going and with where I’m at. It is with profound sadness and a shattered heart that I let ya’ll know my sweet Lil’ Misseur passed away peacefully last week, off at last to the Heavyside Layer to join all the other Jellicle Cats. Also known as Marcy Mayor, Bommossae, Mr. Marjorie Taylor, The Littlest One, Robitussin, Misseur Haberdashery, and Scrat, just to name a few, he consistently had the strongest sense of self. I’m so incredibly grateful to have spent so many wonderful years with my little fuzzy sidekick. He was truly my Very Best Friend and my furry soulmate. He was my First Friend in LA. I’d always dreamed of having the finances to bring him around the world with me, share bowls of sweet cream with him and show him how French cats live, and Italian, and Korean, and Chinese, and African, and Australian— but that won’t happen now. I realize this entire time I’ve been with him tho, he’s taken me around HIS whole world, showing me the ins and outs, the inner workings of what makes him tick, and what makes him scratch, and bite, and yowl, and play, and poooosh up against things.And for that I’ll be thankful to him for all time. He is the most exceptional, interesting cat I’ve ever met, and I’m lucky that he chose me to love. I always told him “Marcy, you are forever, and you are for sure” and I believe that. I’ll certainly be on the lookout for hummingbirds with mischievous mustaches that may stop by the balcony garden when I’m watering, and for other mustachioed creatures with a silly glimmer in their eyes. Minutes before he passed I lay with him on my bedroom floor, massaging him and singing our Two Favorite Songs, “You are My Sunshine” and “Edelweiss” (with lyric changes, naturally). I’ll close with some lines from the latter: “Edelweiss, edelweiss
Every morning you greet me
Black and white, sweet and kind
You look happy to meet me
Blossom of snow, may you bloom and grow
Marcy is forever
Edelweiss, edelweiss
Bless our hometown forever.” Till we meet again, my sweet, sweet huckleberry friend 🤍
