I'm featured along with Tony Ozier & the Doo Doo Funk All Stars on OPB 🥰 The crew came out to Alberta Street Pub for the Dookie Jam hosted by King Dookie Tony Ozier & myself.

Special Shout Out to Deena Bee for producing this video & bringing all of this into fruition. Though I am an Entity of Greatness in my own right,imma always be the Dookie Jam Poster Child.
The jam helped shape a generation of us musicians in a uniquely dope way that can not be denied.

I've decided to take an Etta Day. The calm before the storm.
If you have been following me, you know that I try to dress in a way that is flattering yet modest...
At times 😆
As we grow older, people have their perception as to how our particular age groups Are supposed to dress. While this type of thinking can put people in boxes, if you know your style you can shift accordingly.

Honestly, I haven't worn this top in about 2 years. It's time to break her out more.

Anyhow, what's important when you do select garments is to know your body shape and also do some research to see what type of garments are flattering to you.
Also proceed with caution. Make your own decisions because if you own what you wear, can't nobody tell you 💩
That my friends, is owning your power and walking in your truth.

Yesterday was a total struggle! This was actually a beautiful ensemble.
Once I believed that I was a beautiful flower with a solid green stem, I embraced the look🌻
After I slowed my ass down, I was able to appreciate the eclecticness to it. The main thing that brought me discomfort was my leggings I picked up the ones that were too big for me.
I used to think that they were too small, but they wouldn't stay up versus making it up over Mt. Etta.

Anyway, thank you all for your patience. I believe yesterday was the first time I had to actually do a rerun versus real time.
It was truly a struggle for me, but I am human
... I believe I am LOL

Princess Egypt was under a year & Sir Phoenix had just turned four.
Both were literally trying to get on the mic😂 Boy how time flies.
Ironically enough,we were rehearsing to perform at Mississippi Studios to open for @bigsamsfunkynation in 2018
THAT WAS SOOOOO FUN!
The version of sometimes on my album was from that very show.

Crazy how things come about. Sometimes you got to do right to be happy!

I got caught up in catching up on my administrative duties.

Anyhoo,
Dress Casual to get out the house & go to my "office"
To spread out with my to-do list helps me hone in on my tasks at hand.
It's been a struggle to become second-natured self-starter. If I want to grow and expand, it is mandatory to get out of my way and do the work.

Everyday is a new day, but I'm just super excited to be able to be in a position to do what I love!

Performance are forthcoming this week, so I'll be a little bit more colorful as the day move LOL

A random find at Ross many moons ago.
It shows the Sun & Moon living harmoniously amongst the stars.

Duality at its finest.

Definitely where I am in my life.

🤗I'm so blessed in a myriad of ways, places & instances.

😡On the Flip,
Masks that were secure for years started to melt, slip or flat out been taken off.

The lesson in it all is to trust your gut, keep moving forth & your tribe knows your song, PERIOD💪🏾

Funny thing:
I had seen the advertisement for the Annual Mt Tabor Art Walk & said I wanted to go. Totally forgot for my "talker" (throat) was getting more fatigued than usual.
My PCP is RIGHT NEXT DOOR to where Diane Russell usually shows her artistry.

So on my way to my appointment, I wondered if she was there because you know sometimes they switch out locations. But I saw the large painting of Uncle Norman Sylvester 😂 She was there.

After finishing up, I went next door & visited for a while.
To see the various portraits, paintings & prints in person really takes your breath away. Diane is a Quiet Fire indeed.

Her "Covid Blues" is on my opinion represents Portland in so many ways.
It features myself, Jimmy Russell David Kahl Dan Berkery Steve Kerin & Brian Foxworth
It was from a series of photos taken from over a half a block away.
We were performing on the back of a flatbed trailer outfitted as a mobile stage as part of the Waterfront Blues Festival's eight neighborhood performances during July 4th weekend in 2020. To me, it's one of those serendipitous events that came together & created a lot of healing for a bunch of us.

Her catalog has something for everyone. I've put a video explaining more about her process & about how Covid Blues came to be as well as her contact information in the comments.
Diane, you're definitely a Master Artisan & are very dear to me.
