My flight home took off after midnight, but I had plenty of down time beforehand. Day three in Phoenix included breakfast in the lobby, posting, lunch at @jackinthebox, shopping at @northphoenixoutlets, packing, calls with mama, and sightseeing to and fro... ☀️

All throughout this trip, I have encountered the kindest, most accommodating people in a long while. From the TSA check point at @fly2midway, to the older gentleman with a cane who reached over to help push my carry-on in the cargo bin, I have been showered with an abundance of good vibes.

Before deboarding, I shared the love with some @yabsticker stickers ❣️ A half joking suggestion turned into a trip to the laundromat DIRECTLY after being picked up at 5:30am! 🤣 I had a quiet 4+ hour nap, and dinner was prepared while I was away. My bags were emptied, disinfected, and prepped for the next adventure- hopefully in a couple of weeks 🧳Tonight's tumble down half a flight of stairs couldn't even distract me from all the peace that I'm carrying... I just grabbed the rubbing alcohol and the aspirin! 💊 If you stay focused on GRATITUDE and your PURPOSE, absolutely nothing can dim your light... 🌟

WHEELS UP! ✈️
Yesterday I caught a 6am @southwestair flight to another new state! ✔️ As soon as my ticket was secured, I reached out to AFSP, NAMI, and RMH to make arrangements for meetings and volunteering (more on that tomorrow) 🎗️ My first stop was for pancakes with crispy edges 🥞 #IYKYK! Are you CELEBRATING or CRINGING today? 👀
Mother's Day comes with a plethora of emotions, memories, and reminders of what was, what is, and what could or cannot be. It's OK to feel all those feelings. It's OK to NOT be OK. Whether you are celebrating or cringing today, know that you're never alone. Family history can be complicated and dysfunctional. Trauma is REAL and it can still affect us far beyond the decades where you thought you left it behind.

If you're sitting at a table full of people, keep in mind that 1 in every 4 individuals experience a mental health illness. If you know someone who declined an invitation to sit at the table, remember that Anxiety is the most common mental health condition. If you're aware of someone using alcohol or drugs as a coping mechanism for dealing with stress or behavioral issues, know that substance use and depression are the two highest contributors to suicide.

If you are, in fact. celebrating today, hold the people close to you tighter. Also, pay very close attention, WE CAN HELP SAVE LIVES TOGETHER. Helping people to feel heard, loved, seen, understood, and valued goes a long way toward that goal... ❤️‍🩹

I spent my afternoon serving the residents of Ronald McDonald House-Loyola for their "Cookies from the Heart" volunteer program. I chose this weekend to honor the mothers sacrificing their energy, sleep, and time going back and forth between their children's hospital bedside and the hundred other daily obligations they have 💐 I have had the pleasure of serving "Meals from the Heart" at every @ronaldmcdonaldhousechicago location over the past 11 years. Loyola House was VERY BUSY this Saturday afternoon with families cleaning, eating and prepping meals. I baked up just over 100 cookies and got out of their way as fast as I could! 🥴

I have friends whose families were residents of #RMH while their children recovered in nearby hospitals. Parents have sat with me during dinner, sharing their stories and gratitude to the charity. Staff members have shown exceptional hospitality and kindness during my service events across the city. This organization provides support to keep families close during times of crisis- regardless of their financial ability. Cookies may not sound like a big deal. For someone who spent hours in the hospital, a plate of warm cookies may be the best food for the soul. I was blessed to be able to provide 🍋 lemon sugar cookies for them today... and it only took an hour and a half of my time! ❤️

I spent my afternoon serving the residents of Ronald McDonald House-Loyola for their "Cookies from the Heart" volunteer program. I chose this weekend to honor the mothers sacrificing their energy, sleep, and time going back and forth between their children's hospital bedside and the hundred other daily obligations they have 💐 I have had the pleasure of serving "Meals from the Heart" at every @ronaldmcdonaldhousechicago location over the past 11 years. Loyola House was VERY BUSY this Saturday afternoon with families cleaning, eating and prepping meals. I baked up just over 100 cookies and got out of their way as fast as I could! 🥴

I have friends whose families were residents of #RMH while their children recovered in nearby hospitals. Parents have sat with me during dinner, sharing their stories and gratitude to the charity. Staff members have shown exceptional hospitality and kindness during my service events across the city. This organization provides support to keep families close during times of crisis- regardless of their financial ability. Cookies may not sound like a big deal. For someone who spent hours in the hospital, a plate of warm cookies may be the best food for the soul. I was blessed to be able to provide 🍋 lemon sugar cookies for them today... and it only took an hour and a half of my time! ❤️
