Hi friends 🤍

We wanted to share a quick note because it’s been quiet here, and it’s felt hard to find the words.

The holidays were heavy. Holding our families, navigating everything with Hutch, and keeping the business moving all at once has been more than we imagined. Some days, just showing up was all we had.

Since mid-December, Hutch has been recovering from brain surgery and is now facing a long, uncertain road. He has Posterior Fossa Syndrome, which means he can’t speak or walk right now, and we don’t yet know what recovery will look like. We’re learning to take it one day at a time. 🙏

Yesterday was a good day. After what we hope will be his last surgery for a long while, we saw small but meaningful signs—more nodding, using his hands to communicate, better eye contact, smiles, even little kisses. We’re deeply grateful for these moments. We also received good news that his lumbar puncture came back negative for cancer cells, which likely means less intensive radiation and fewer side effects.

As Hutch relearns basic motor skills, he’s wanted to put everything in his mouth. His therapists encouraged teethers, and while it’s incredibly hard to see our six-year-old reach for one again, it’s brought unexpected comfort to see something familiar help soothe him.

We’ve found ourselves looking back on the last five years—why we built Morepeas in the first place. And we had this quiet realization: maybe this work, this flexibility, this partnership and friendship… maybe it’s part of how we’re able to walk through this together. To work from home. To be present. To show up for each other—and for Hutch—every single day.

Thank you for the love, messages, prayers, and grace. We’re so grateful for this community.

Going forward, our plan is to share weekly updates on Hutch and continue building Morepeas one day at a time. This season looks different than we expected, but we’ll keep going—imperfectly, honestly, and with so much gratitude.

Overwhelmed by all the “stuff”? When our babies were little, we remember that feeling so clearly… a diaper bag already overflowing with diapers, wipes, bottles, and snacks. Toy bins full of flashing battery-operated toys that drove us crazy 😅, piles of stuffed animals, and bulky plastic clutter everywhere — only to realize the things our kids loved most were always the simplest.

Designing this set brought us right back to those early years — the diaper bag essentials, the restaurant saves, the airplane must-haves, the toys that somehow came everywhere with us and were easy to clean. We poured so much thought into making something beautiful, functional, and actually useful for families in this stage of life 🤍
