This year @isabellecastanier_artgallery the summer exhibition is exploring childhood memories. Growing by the beach I use to fish a lot, specially octopus (βpoulpeβ in French). The years went by and it slowly became very rare to see those wonderful creatures due to fishing but mostly polluted environments of Mediterranean Sea. I started to feel very sorry and guilty fishing them as a kid, specially when I discovered later on that they could be very social, sensible, clever and yet still full of mystery. Mea Poulpa

Here is my sculpted interpretation of a photograph by Edward Weston from 1936.
I collect leftover construction material from building sites around town. Considered βnon-nobleβ materials I try to give them another life.

Angels falls faster than the sun π
.
My first attempt at making an entire lamp, using sculpted base with limestone pigment on concrete and a dyed lampshade.
I wanted to paint a vivid memory of a dreamy summer scene witnessed in Croatia few years back. And itβs like every time I turn on the light I make the angels falls all over again.

Lou tems passo, passo lou ben
.
βLe temps passe, passe le bienβ
.
This could be translated literally as βtime passes, pass it wellβ i saw this ancient proverb written under a sundial in south of France. I thought it would be nice to have this at the entrance of the studio as a daily reminderπ

The sun got no enemy π

Summer keeps on writing itself on pieces of paper. Likelost memories of a sailing boat drifting through the pine trees.
