It's getting real (and so exciting)!
HERE, NOW is the first major exhibition of permanent collection works in the M’s New Wing, which triple's the total gallery space and reinvigorates the M's stunning stained glass arcade. The artworks on view will call to mind interconnections—throughout our history, many stories have intertwined within the M's permanent collection. We can't wait for you to learn more!
An Open House and celebration of the New Wing will take place on October 26, 2024 from 10:00 a.m.—4:00 p.m.
HERE, NOW
Opens October 17, 2024
mmaa.org/here-now/

Starting this Saturday, November 4, the M will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays!
Construction in downtown St. Paul is underway, making car travel and parking challenging. Consider taking public transportation or give yourself extra driving time. For more information on transit routes that stop at the M, parking tips, and directions, go to the "Hours & Directions" link in bio.

In Wanda Gág's "Progress," the air is free, cigarettes "give you a lift," and gas is 14 cents a gallon.
With metro area gas prices more like $4.45 a gallon, stay close to home this Memorial Day weekend. Here's an idea: Visit this 1936 lithograph by the beloved Minnesota artist, fresh in the M's galleries! You'll still have time to paint your nails with Gory Brand varnish.

Welcome to "Queering Indigeneity" artist focus: AWANIGIIZHIK BRUCE
One of 16 artists featured in "Queering Indigeneity," Awanigiizhik Bruce (Mikinaak-Wajiw Anishinaabe, Nehiyawe, Michif) is a Two-Spirit diverse-media artist based on the Turtle Mountain Chippewa Reservation. Their artistic practice traverses traditional and ceremonial Nehiyaw-pwat forms, mixed media, and multimedia work. Their primary mediums include ledger art, quillwork, beadworking, painting, and computer-coded LED art.
Artist Statement
Through the preservation and revitalization of material culture—storytelling across numerous artistic modalities—I push boundaries by exploring Indigenous futurisms. My practice is informed by my Nehiyaw-Pwat (Ojibwe, Cree, Metis, and Assiniboine) heritage, personal identity, and nomadic lifestyle.
