I’ve always felt split, part analytical, routine-loving, academic, “Type A”… and part creative, dreamy, and a little off the traditional path. How can I be both?!

By day: business, advertising, marketing.
By night: jewellery, oil painting, ceramics.
Always juggling. Often unsure. Sometimes overwhelmed.

Melbourne is full of incredible creatives, and being surrounded by so much talent can be confronting. But being named a 2025 @issinstitute Italian-Australian Fellow feels like a little kiss from the universe to keep going. 🪐

My thirst for knowledge and craft is endless. Being an artist is a forever-learning adventure and it’s anxiety provoking but equally invigorating.

To my four grandparents, thank you for this life in Australia and all your hard work. But in 2026… it’s back to the motherland 🇮🇹✨

@forbes coined the term the ‘Great Resignation’, @microsoft reported 40% of the global workforce would consider leaving their job and most recently @harvard_business_review reported the trend continues to swell, with nearly 57 million Americans leaving their role between January 2021 and February 2022.The pandemic forced many to revaluate their professional and personal priorities, reshaping how we think about life, work, play and where we spend our time. Hello, COVID life change ….

I am the statistic, stepping away from a life I once dreamed about, and worked damn hard to achieve, to be right back at square one. Experiencing crippling anxiety throughout 2020 & 2021, acted as a catalyst for a decision I had contemplated for years prior. A decision I did not take lightly.

Those close to me know I’m a complete type a personality - so the decision to leave a secure career in marketing and advertising, an industry I adore; to travel down a rocky, unclear road took courage.

The last few years have taught me life is messy, unknown, confusing and a constant evolution. The thought of thinking “what if” pushed me to place one foot in front of the other and see what I could make of myself as a working creative. It was scary, however, now I can look at the messy parts of life as the moments you can really build yourself up and find a brilliant light on the other side. The special sparkles many often miss due to fear.

In this conversation I share what it feels like to start over in your early 30s. To be privileged with choices and options; when it comes to how I build a career for myself. Spoiler, this is not one of those over-night success stories (well not yet 😉). I also don’t have all the answers, it’s real and it’s now - the feeling of treading water, feeling scared, unsure and like I have no idea what I’m doing. Yet at the same time joyfully exploring a trade I’ve admired for over a decade. A time of exploration, excitement, new adventure and endless opportunities to sort through.
