2025 wrap. Thank you to all the amazing people and brands I had the opportunity to work with this year. You really all made it such a special one. 🖤🤍
(sorry I couldn’t tag everyone)
(I also spent two hours trying to make a real and then it somehow disappeared into the ether when I pressed share 😵💫 so you are getting another collage this year lol)

The yearly wrap up for 2024. Probably the hardest collection I’ve done so far as my work has been so varied this year. But I’ve been so so lucky/grateful to of travelled for work so much this year. And worked with some amazing and beautiful humans.
Here are just a few of my favorites from this year.
Happy New Year everyone. Here’s to a great 2025.
Love Ming xx

Days in the studio, looking, finding, matching, cutting, assembling, painting, drawing, ~ the process is the best part.

Imaginarium ~ 🐚🫧
“The collection of works in this series - titled ‘Imaginarium’ - talk to a world within worlds; a world in which the smaller you go, the bigger things get. In this series, I pay particular attention to seashells, which to me, symbolise the cylindrical nature of life - birth, death and resurrection. Their hard, complex, and intricate exterior protects the vulnerable creature inside; they are a safe haven, a home.
Imaginarium celebrates these homes - these inter-worlds that are sometimes small but ever-expanding.”
Works currently on display as part of the group show “Between Salt & Light” at @leightoncontemporary alongside the talented @kristianhawker & @hannahlange.art

A life time fascination, a lifetime of collecting these tiny homes. Little specimens of an underwater world. Calcium created dwellings where patterns repeat and spiral life into quantum Fibonacci Sequences.
These shells, forever a muse for getting lost in time in their patterns and shapes.

Excited to be apart of ‘Exposition’ group show showing at @hake.house
From this Saturday.
Honored to have my work sitting alongside a talented lineup of artists.
The show explores ideas of presentation and visibility, bringing together diverse works that engage in dialogue through contrast, material, and form. Rather than a single theme, Exposition offers an open framework where artworks interact and resonate within a shared space, encouraging thoughtful and layered viewing.
Come by this Saturday to see the exhibition or to receive a catalogue of works, please email hello@hake.house.
(The catalogue will be available on Friday, 1 May).

One of my favorite pieces from this latest collection of works is “Curvatour”
~ through an intimate view, a dissection and reassembly, the shell, morphs into a series of shapes and textures, of new places and spaces. No longer a shell, now a whole new world.
The use of colour directs attention to each section of the scene, helping the viewer stay a moment longer, see a little more. The more you stare, the more you see. 🐚🗺️
The more my practice evolves, the more I realize that my work is a reaction to our fast paced digital lives, the feeling of anxiety of having to keep up, keep going, do more.
It makes me nostalgic for my childhood, for a time without the internet and iPhones. When time was slow and boredom created ideas and new worlds to play in. It was beautiful.
But beauty and wonder are still all around us. You don’t need to look far to find it, but rather, just stay a while and take a closer look.
