Mind Over Hatter was born in Los Angeles in 2015, out of survival, imagination, and the ruins of a world that didn’t know what to do with us.

What began as scavenging scraps off the streets became a universe of wearable art: post-apocalyptic fashion, sculptural hats, custom pieces, and emotional alchemy.

We create with our hands, our hearts, and whatever the world has thrown away.

Recycled materials, found objects, donated scraps, transformed into one-of-a-kind garments, accessories, jewelry and “Mad Hats” that each carry a soul, a story, a character.

We design for the strange, the bold, the beautifully defiant; for the ones rebuilding themselves from their own ruins; for the wanderers of the wasteland, real or imagined.

The philosophy of F**K !T.

Sometimes the best way to get started is to just get started. Just sit down and sew 🪡 🧵… see where it goes. Even when you have no idea what you’re doing, just keep sewing, just keep going, repeat that motion, grab random scraps and just keeping sewing. Even if it doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t have to. Just go with what you feel. Eventually inspiration finds its way in and tells you what the fabric what it wants to be.

It’s not just time, money, resources, or effort that go into the work. We stitch our souls into it. Chaos into creation, again and again. Making something out of nothing. Making new life. Patiently. Piece by piece.

You’re not just paying for ‘stuff’. You’re paying for a piece of someone’s mind, their soul, their lived experience. A fragment of them that they chose to give form. You’re not buying an object! You’re buying insight, soul, perspective, and the peace of mind behind it. A lived in experience pressed into form.

Artist are selling you a piece of their human experience, so that you can partake in the final step in the process of our emotional alchemy. All so that you may feel that magic we felt when making it.
That magic WE got! That’s what you’re paying for!

Paying full price means saying:
‘I see you.’
‘I get what you’re doing.’
‘I feel it. I respect it.’
‘I respect you and your craft.’

That’s what paying full price really is.
Respect.

We’re about the money, sure.
