Operating under various aliases since the early 2000s, TB Shine is one of the many expressions of Norwegian artist Terje Bakke. This EP delivers five tracks that shift between hypnotic minimalism and raw percussive workouts, weaving together haunting atmospheres, fractured rhythms, and layered tension.
The A side opens with Dopamine Dungeon, a slippery, low-end roller wrapped in hazy textures and unstable euphoria. Following is Red Army Moody Troopers, a tougher cut that drives forward with spectral pads and straight drums, charged with a sense of unrest and urgency.
On the B side, Plight of the Gifted appears in two versions. The original leans into melodic fragments and emotional motifs, walking the line between vulnerability and defiance. The Haunted Version strips things further back, drenched in space, odd grooves, and a lingering post-club psychosis. Closing the record is Plague Doctor, a slow-burning piece where hopeful melodies echo against distant percussion, bringing the EP to a warm yet unsettled resolution.
