I knew the urban legend of an epic parallax Santa Claus south of Carpentaria and had always wanted to show kiddo at the right age but had totally forgot and was utterly spacing out about it until the 6yo fully spotted it herself ON CHRISTMAS eve EVE while driving north to fam. Felt like a#domestic dream magic to have all these happy accidents collide for an unforgettable moment that will make breaking the truth to her a lot harder haha. The effect is stunning in person and I noticed that so many ridiculous little things add to it like even the slow smooth turn going 80mph or so creates just enough G-force that on a black night your brain feels that the horizon is a lot lower than where the rigs actually sit and then the high way drops right at the perfect moment giving this effect that Rudolph really drops it down fast in the final approach like they're hitting an aircraft carrier. There are even moments where the spacing looks exactly like sleigh with large sac in back and 4 rows of two deer each. Wild.
