🚨 Αυτό δυστυχώς δεν ήταν πρωταπριλιάτικο ψέμα.

⚠️ Από τις 3 Απριλίου, οι πλατφόρμες στην ΕΕ δεν μπορούν πλέον να εντοπίζουν υλικό σεξουαλικής κακοποίησης ανηλίκων, επειδή οι Ευρωπαίοι πολιτικοί απέτυχαν να ανανεώσουν τον νόμο που το επέτρεπε.

⚠️ Αυτό σημαίνει λιγότερες αναφορές στην αστυνομία, λιγότερες έρευνες και λιγότερα παιδιά που προστατεύονται. Το 2021, όταν το σύστημα σταμάτησε προσωρινά, οι αναφορές μειώθηκαν κατά 58%. Κάθε μέρα χωρίς εντοπισμό σημαίνει περισσότερη βλάβη.

📢 Νέα Νομοθεσία για την Ενσωμάτωση της Διάστασης του Φύλου

Το Μεσογειακό Ινστιτούτο Μελετών Κοινωνικού Φύλου χαιρετίζει την ψήφιση του Νόμου για την Ενσωμάτωση της Διάστασης του Φύλου, ως ένα σημαντικό βήμα προς την προώθηση της ουσιαστικής ισότητας μεταξύ γυναικών και ανδρών στην Κύπρο.

Η θεσμοθέτηση της υποχρεωτικής ενσωμάτωσης της διάστασης του φύλου σε όλες τις δημόσιες πολιτικές καθώς και στον κρατικό προϋπολογισμό αποτελεί μιαμεγάλη θετική εξέλιξη, η οποία ευθυγραμμίζεται με τις ευρωπαϊκές και διεθνείς δεσμεύσεις της χώρας.

Αναμένουμε την αποτελεσματική εφαρμογή του νόμου μέσα από τη συνεργασία όλων των αρμόδιων κρατικών θεσμών, ανεξάρτητων αρχών και οργανώσεων της κοινωνίας των πολιτών.

Παράλληλα, υπογραμμίζουμε ότι η επιτυχία του νέου νόμου θα κριθεί στην πράξη. Απαιτούνται σαφείς και δεσμευτικοί μηχανισμοί εφαρμογής, επαρκείς πόροι, συστηματική συλλογή και αξιοποίηση έμφυλων δεδομένων, καθώς και ισχυρά πλαίσια λογοδοσίας και αξιολόγησης. Η ενσωμάτωση της διάστασης του φύλου δεν θα πρέπει να περιοριστεί σε τυπικές διαδικασίες συμμόρφωσης αλλά να οδηγήσει σε μετρήσιμα αποτελέσματα.

Ειδικότερα, ο νέος νόμος αναμένεται να αποτελέσει τη βάση έναρξης ενός ουσιαστικού πολιτικού διαλόγου για την εφαρμογή του έμφυλου προϋπολογισμού , με στόχο τη δίκαιη ανακατανομή πόρων και την αντιμετώπιση των έμφυλων ανισοτήτων.

Η ψήφιση του νόμου αποτελεί επίσης μια σημαντική ευκαιρία για την έναρξη θεσμοθετημένης και ουσιαστικής διαβούλευσης με την κοινωνία των πολιτών και τις γυναικείες οργανώσεις, ενόψει της διαμόρφωσης του επόμενου Πολυετούς Δημοσιονομικού Πλαισίου της ΕΕ 2028-2034 και των αντίστοιχων εθνικών στρατηγικών.

Το Ινστιτούτο παραμένει στη διάθεση της Πολιτείας για την παροχή τεχνογνωσίας και τη συμβολή του στην αποτελεσματική υλοποίηση του νέου νόμου.

🗣Το Μεσογειακό Ινστιτούτο Μελετών Κοινωνικού Φύλου χαιρετίζει την ομόφωνη ψήφιση τροποποίησης του νόμου περί του Δικαιώματος Πνευματικής Ιδιοκτησίας και Συγγενικών Δικαιωμάτων έτσι ώστε να ρυθμίζει τη μη συναινετική χρήση του προσώπου, της φωνής και των προσωπικών χαρακτηριστικών, μέσω τεχνολογιών τεχνητής νοημοσύνης και deepfakes, χωρίς τη ρητή συγκατάθεση του προσώπου.

🤳Σε μια εποχή όπου η τεχνολογία χρησιμοποιείται ολοένα και περισσότερο ως εργαλείο εκφοβισμού, εξευτελισμού και ελέγχου κατά κοριτσιών και γυναικών, αυτή η εξέλιξη αποτελεί ένα σημαντικό βήμα για την προστασία της αξιοπρέπειας, της ιδιωτικότητας και της σωματικής και ψηφιακής αυτονομίας τους.

🔎Μόλις την προηγούμενη εβδομάδα, στο συνέδριο που διοργανώσαμε ως MIGS για την τεχνολογικά υποβοηθούμενη βία κατά κοριτσιών και γυναικών, ακούσαμε μέσα από μαρτυρίες, έρευνες και τη συμβολή εμπειρογνωμονισσών, τις πραγματικές και συχνά καταστροφικές συνέπειες της deepfake πορνογραφίας. Γυναίκες και κορίτσια στοχοποιούνται, εκτίθενται και στιγματίζονται δημόσια - συχνά δια βίου.

🎯«Τι θα πούμε στα κορίτσια του αύριο, αν αφήσουμε αυτή την κατάσταση να συνεχίζεται;» αναρωτήθηκε η ακτιβίστρια Olimpia Coral Melo την Τετάρτη 11 Μαρτίου στη 70ή Σύνοδο του ΟΗΕ για τη Θέση των Γυναικών, στη Νέα Υόρκη.
Η ψήφιση του νόμου είναι μόνο η αρχή. Απαιτείται αποτελεσματική εφαρμογή, επαρκής εκπαίδευση των αρχών, λογοδοσία των πλατφορμών που εδράζονται στην Κύπρο, και συνεχής ενημέρωση της κοινωνίας ώστε τα θύματα να μπορούν όχι μόνο να διεκδικούν προστασία αλλά και να την λαμβάνουν.
