Maryville College Alumni
Maryville College Alumni - Go Scots!

For 150 years, the @maryvillecollege Alumni Association has served a single purpose, one documented in his 1919 book, “A Century of Maryville College,” by Dr. Samuel Tyndale Wilson 1878, who would later serve 29 years as president of MC: “to rouse a fervent college patriotism that is both enthusiastic and enduring.”
“Wherever Maryville men and women are found, they are zealous champions of their alma mater,” Wilson continued. “They are the uncommissioned agents who send the ever-swelling tide of new students to the old College."
As our celebration of the 150th anniversary of the alumni association comes to a close read about it's history, purpose, and future at our link in bio.

At Commencement, the annual Alumni Delegation, representing our entire @maryvillecollege alumni community, was present to lead the Class of 2026 to the ceremony and welcome them into our ranks.
We were honored to have these alumni from across the decades represent us all, from left to right: Hannah Lee '25, Chandni Dularam '16, Dustin Hefner '06, Mary Steger Rich '94, Pat Moyer '85, Bruce Guillaume '76.
Seated in the front row, the delegation was introduced to the graduating class and gathered audience before all alumni were asked to stand and be recognized. What a moment to see so many faculty, staff, parents, and loved ones stand - demonstrating such a deep and shared love for this institution and our newest alumni.

Recently, @maryvillecollege AI Initiative, led by retiring lecturer Jan Taylor, hosted an AI Ethics forum for the College community.
The scenario-based forum brought together students, faculty, and staff to think through real-world AI dilemmas alongside alumni and professionals from fields including journalism, healthcare, law, programming, marketing, environmental leadership, and finance.
Through four scenarios, attendees discussed a dilemma and then heard from an #InspiringMCAlumni on how they would respond from their professional perspective and experiences.
What a great opportunity to learn more about how early-career professionals make decisions about AI through accountability, judgment, verification, and long-term impact.
Thank you to the outstanding alumni panelists (seated L-R): Mariah Franklin '18, Trey McNear '17, Ian Harmon '08, Meagan Willis '13, Ben Taylor '02, Joe Norskov '08, Jackie Eul '18, Josh Collins '04, along with moderators Dr. Bill Meyer and Jan Taylor.
