‘Tony Albert: Not a Souvenir’ now at the MCA.
Smashing stereotypes one souvenir at a time.
@tonyalbert (Girramay, Yidinji and Kuku Yalanji peoples) is one of Australia’s most fearless and influential contemporary artists. The major exhibition ‘Tony Albert: Not a Souvenir’ brings together his work across sculpture, photography, installation, painting and assemblage alongside major new commissions.
Driven by humour, energy and provocation, the exhibition shows how even objects of prejudice can be turned into symbols of resistance, resilience and pride.
‘Tony Albert: Not a Souvenir’ is guest curated by renowned Indigenous curator @brucejohnsonmclean (Wierdi people) and has been developed in close collaboration with the artist.
Now open, only at MCA Australia.

Australia needs more artists! Not only because we need more paintings or sculptures. We need more people who think like artists.
On Thursday 4 June, MCA Giving Day invites you to double down on contemporary art – and the artists whose ideas help us navigate a complex world.
For one day only, from 8am to 8pm, every donation will be doubled thanks to our generous matching funders.
Double the donation. Double the art. Double the artists.
Mark your calendar for Thursday 4 June.
