From my adventures in the woods: yellow violets (which seem kind of rare), a random Corinthian column capital I wish I could bring home, more violets, a faerie portal, a trout lily, a fragrant section of trail inexplicably covered in lily of the valley, and a hillside of trilliums.

I’d love to keep working on this, but the overworked paper says I’m done.
I experimented quite a bit on this, with some things just not working out, particularly coloring over marker forthe background because @prismacolor discontinued Art Stix (please bring them back). I have also now officially forced myself to try all the expensive, quality colored pencils on the market, to discover that, despite the infernal wax bloom, I’m still a diehard Prismacolor girlie.

After drawing my self-portrait, I was still feeling the vibrant colors. Then I remembered I’d purchased a still from the beautiful @sistertothesun way back when she was my lockdown-era muse, and I was doing weekly life drawing via Zoom with @jamie_the_seamstress

I’m glad I dug out this reference as it was a lot of fun, and at times felt like I was drawing stained glass. I’m also glad I finally finished it, as it’s been staring at me from my easel for far too long.
Hoping to keep leaning into this era of completing projects!

The first pic. is closer to reality, with all my drinks, and working on my tiny laptop in front of my failing desktop I need to figure out how to get rid of. I also pull my desk in front of the window, and I am def going to age like a trucker with the sun hitting one side only face for hours on end 😂
