As a self confessed cinephile it feels a little remiss of me that I’ve never watched this movie until now. It’s up there with one of the best I’ve ever seen, with Daniel Day Lewis’ performance potentially one of the greatest. Oh, go on then. The first album I ever heard (back in 1982!), the first band I loved, my introduction to both music and heavy metal. Definitely an album that had an impact on me. Arguably my favourite Maiden album, it encapsulates both the early punk energy and the proggy moments which would come later. Powerslave is obviously their best (and the greatest metal album of all time), but the moment Ides Of March kicks in all bets are off. Was so chuffed to hear four tracks, including the killer title track, live on the last tour. Essential. 🤘 #recordcollection #vinyl #ironmaiden #heavymetalcollection
