In the process I find endless starting points: it’s behind - hidden, but it has always been there.

My friend, her cat, a vintage shirt and Miista boots.

It’s exciting for me to combine things and people I like, spontaneously 🫧

The beauty of her natural poses.

I met Sofia in a para-swimming competition and, while on a break, I saw her body assuming resting postures. When I told her that I liked the poses her body took, she laughed, usually people told her how to improve her posture. At that moment I felt close, having long been forced to work on my posture due to scoliosis.

In this situation I thought about how important it is to see and perceive one’s own body under another’s gaze.

Here are some shots (my favourites) taken for the documentary “Power of the Current” directed and produced by @alexiajbarrett

🖤 Thanks to @annaafuma for thinking of me for this project and to @sofia_brizio for her trust.

Land textile works

_
I was catalysed by the movements of the pvc that looked like woven. I was just going out for a walk.

“prendersi cura”
2018, performance, 01:00:00

“Prendersi cura” (taking care) is part of an ongoing cycle of textile works entitled “They are only my words”, which addresses issues related to the body.

The artist, during the performance, embroidery on flesh colored organza the words “prendersi cura”. The gesture of embroidery evokes a tradition from the past, highlighting a work that requires accuracy and time. Embroidery, a purely feminine domestic art and in this case becomes a metaphor for that attention that we should devote to ourselves and that often lacks in our frenetic everyday life.

The materials used by the artist, fabric and sewing thread, represents the fragility both of human body and our contemporary society.

Through this work the artist wants to highlight, in a positive way, the act of self-care. The intimacy of the gesture is comparable to an inner look, equivalent to self-knowledge, through which it is possible to listen to one's body, recognizing its power and limit.
