In 2005, I received an @arttableinc internship working with @cclarkgallery in San Francisco. At the time, it was one of the few internships that offered a stipend, and it set me firmly on the path toward a curatorial career.
Twenty-one years later, ArtTable is recognizing my work with the New Leadership Award at their upcoming Benefit—an honor for which I’m deeply grateful.
I’m told there are still a few spots available for the Benefit next Wednesday, March 18, so please consider purchasing a ticket. I’m humbled by everyone who has already bought a ticket or joined as co-chairs (@carmenritawong @marysol.nieves @morris___a @pruizhealy 😘), and I look forward to celebrating with you that evening.

So much to say about the last couple of nights and so many people to be thankful for. But for now, I want to thank @uno.crear.mas (Yola Colón) for dressing me; @rodrigorpadilla (Rodrigo Padilla) for the hair; and @carlospuertobeauty (Carlos Puerto) for the makeup. Love my 🇵🇷 & 🇨🇴 team!
I’m experiencing POWS (post-opening withdrawal syndrome), but I’ll try to put aside my feelings about this platform and post more. Pinky promise!

I can’t believe we’re about to host the fifth “X as Intersection” panel. It’s been five years since the @whitneymuseum has partnered with @uslaforum, the @mellonfoundation, and @fordfoundation to bring this public program series. Huge thanks to @megansheuer, the Whitney’s Director of Public Programs.
Please join me, @joshtfranco, @sub_scientist, @_frances_gallardo_ , and @nancyfriedemannsanchez next Thursday, October 22, for “X as Intersection: Working with Nature.”
Floor 3 Theater and Online, via Zoom
Animal and plant life, weather, and ecology are central to the artistic practices of Nancy Friedemann‑Sánchez, Frances Gallardo, and Angel Lartigue. Through the lens of scientific inquiry, their work explores themes of biodiversity, climate change, and the complex relationships between humans and the environment. This conversation delves into how each artist integrates the natural world into their creative process.
This conversation is moderated by Marcela Guerrero, DeMartini Family Curator, Whitney Museum of American Art, and Josh T. Franco, Associate Director of Special Projects, US Latinx Art Forum.
This program is part of X as Intersection, a four-part hybrid public program series featuring conversations with fellows from the fifth cohort of the Latinx Artist Fellowship, an initiative of the US Latinx Art Forum.
Simultaneous interpretation in Spanish provided by Babilla Collective.
