Making in the temporary, as it all is.
——
This is the full clip from some of our Sanding Series art we’ve been working on. (Link to Vimeo version in profile)

Looking forward to sharing more of this footage, as each drawing only lasts a few hours in real life and seen by whoever happens to be around. A bittersweet aspect of playing lines in the sand.

Art concept, installation, video, music, lettering, illustration, animation and editing by us, as we’re grateful for the time to learn and create in this season.

It starts with two lines.

(Link to full <1min video in bio.) Putting together some footage from the Sanding Series pieces we’ve been working on. Seems a little conflicting to document art that’s so temporary, but it’s something we’d like others to be able to experience “with us” – even if it’s not in person.

This is an intro clip to some of the longer environmental scenes we’ll be making. We did the music, animation, and illustration to edit in with the video, as it’s been a time to slow down and experiment. Hope you are finding space to make and rest; sometimes it may just be one of those things.

The last of these patterning meditations we did when we could.

Sand farming. Need to figure out how to do an ASMR that’s rakes through sand. #ducttape?

Most of our doodles end in darkness; should probably try some earlier in the day. That way we can see the ocean roll around on it like the original etch-a-sketch. Wouldn’t be as colorful as a backdrop, though.

Standing height view of a recent detail from the same piece. Have some evolving ideas of how to expand/finesse this concept for future makings. Feel it’s a balance of having an idea for a design, and being able to execute it within the tide (and squishy human body) limitations.

We’ve done a few of these, but this is the first documented from above. (Humans for scale!) Testing out a few different patterns/methods here, but still looks like it belongs together and wanted to share.

This is our #sandingseries; temporary designs we make, left for the ocean to enjoy rolling over at its leisure.

This is not how we usually keep milk cold. 😳❄️ Just six weeks until we head down to bask in the glow of the #yeahfieldtrip sun. #naturesfridge Anyone else road tripping there? ️⛄️🚐💨

Everyone bought someone else's bowl at #xoxofest last night; we've rolled it over tonight to keep the streak alive. The "pay it forward" love has made some people tear up. Thanks for being amazing, #xoxo. #breakfastfordinner #xoxofest2016 #cerealfromavan

This is where all the "end of the box" bits from #yeahfieldtrip went. Thinking of making it a featured mix, but not sure anyone would want to adopt it. Might be the "2am Special."
