Last week Wednesday was the last KickBack (for now) and I’m so blessed and grateful for everyone who showed up!! I’ve said it so many times before but:

Kickback was a passion project that started when I worked at Berlin. I saw how alcoholism was rampant in our community and I wondered how we could form community in loud spaces, drunk, and screaming in each others ears.

I wanted to provide a space for us to bond and form better connections in fun and meaningful ways. And so many friends and fun nights have been made and had!

I hope in the future to bring KickBack back, but for now it’s on hiatus.

I also want to shoutout @emtaylorphoto for surprising me and making me tear up. Emily is my best friend from Kindergarten and to be surprised by her already on a sentimental night was the cherry on top of a bittersweet cake.

Emily- no matter how our lives have changed and evolved, no matter how long it’s gone between seeing each other, thank you for being my friend for almost 25 years. To know you for so long is a blessing, to continue to be a part of your life is a privilege.

Thank you @ravenroomchicago for giving KickBack a second run, it was an honor to join the community and I wish this could’ve lasted forever
