Finally behind bars. The original SantaCon was so grassroots beautiful, no one owned it. Then a few people made it naughty. Now it’s a federal case.

Lerochrome tri-color camera. Built in NYC probably in the 40’s. Back home in the city, none the worse for the wear. Speak in RGB. To the spectrum splitters and color freaks: the pellicles are flawless! #nationalphotocolor #analogphoto #tricolorcamera #madness

Last night, Amy Shapiro and I went to see fireworks over the Hudson River on Manhattan’s West side at 8pm. Police had blocked off all access to go West of Washington street all the way south to below Canal street. It could have been a sad trip, except for us being together. We wanted Fireworks! Foot traffic was crazy and slow. The hack to go west was at Google’s courtyard below Houston. We hijacked the foot path, ignored Google security yelling at us, parsed the West Side Highway that had Police cars driving at about 80mph, walked through a Police checkpoint like politicos, talked to some nice Firefighters and NYC Parks people so nearby cops would think we belonged and then had a great view of both New Jersey and NYC firework. The closest people to us were at least 50 feet away. I love New York.

Today is the annual Coney Island Mermaid parade, the start of summer! Dick Zigun, the unofficial, official geniusmayor of Coney Island has been at every parade since 1983.

Nothing is cooler then waking up on my birthday to find a photo of myself in The NY Times. The story called The Lost Art of the Negative with photos by Maansi Srivastava has several awesome photos shot at Luxlab. Long live the C-Print! Long live color film. Luxlab would not have survived 14 years without so many amazing, hard working clients. @maansi.photo #filmphotography #colordarkroom.https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/06/arts/film-photography-negatives.html

True Burger! A JFK classic. Can this legally be called food?Well Paris Photo awaits…
