Final Voyage #lowendtheory

Tonight we shall cry and we shall dance. We shall reflect, and we shall celebrate the rare blend of ingredients that made Low End Theory a special place. LET was never about one person. Or two. Or three. It's about the many thousands of people who have attended our events, and found sanctuary through music.

Know this: We will miss you. We will miss the Airliner. We will miss our safe haven. We will miss the camaraderie. We will miss the ability to perform music in an amazing acoustic environment amongst our peers.

We would like to offer our sincerest gratitude to each and every person who walked through the doors of the Airliner on a Wednesday night. It takes a village, and if you were in attendance with any sort of regularity over the years, then you already know the community aspect of the club and how real it was. Beyond a place to dance and party, LET was a place to get sparked creatively, to be inspired by music, and to hopefully go home and make some art of your own to add to the conversation.

Another central theme of LET was the celebration of diversity. Every race, creed, gender, sexual orientation and ideology was welcome. We challenge each and every one of you to continue this practice – the creation of dialogue through art – so people from disparate backgrounds and belief systems can find common ground in normally-impossible situations.

For the resident DJs, the past 12 years never felt like a job. It was a true joy, and at the same time a calling. A wonderful responsibility we felt to carry things on as long as we could. A few months ago we made the difficult decision to wrap things up, and we have been truly blessed by the outpouring of love and support. Tremendous thanks to the Airliner for putting up with our shenanigans all these years, and a heartfelt thanks to our production and security teams.

Again, our collective gratitude for the nearly 12 years of support. On our best days we like to think of Low End Theory as an aesthetic, but intrinsically it was a place. And tonight we gather for the last time, at the place where it all began.
