“I’d been chatting with Emilie for a while about working on something and this was the second track we tried working on. I’d heard a clip of her performing the vocals and chords to this song and suggested that I tried working it into a D&B track. She deserves full credit for the chord progression on this song. Upon hearing that first demo of hers, I immediately wanted to write something 80s inspired which is a sound I’ve always incorporated into my tracks ever since my first album. She was great to work with and I’m really happy we pushed forwards with getting this track done.”

“‘Phase’ was done pretty quickly in comparison to some of the other tunes on the album. I was trying to incorporate some UK garage influences in there which has always been a big love of mine. It’s actually the genre I first produced when getting started with music production. I’m not sure if that influence necessarily comes across as it took on a bit of a life of its own but that was the inception of the track. Stylistically, this is one of the tracks I’m most happy with as it feels like it has a slightly fresher sound to it.”

9 years ago we were asked to remix the new @birdyinstagram single ‘Wings’. It’s such a powerful original song, the remix took us about 6 hours from start to finish, and became a firm favourite in our sets, and the sets of a lot of other DJs. For some unknown reason, it never actually got a full release…UNTIL TODAY!
