Many thanks to my wonderful family and friends who came along. It was so special being part of this exhibition in my home town of Dublin. I always loved visiting the Photo Museum Ireland when I was younger so it was surreal to have my picture hanging in there.

Huge thanks to @colaistechamuis for allowing me to document over the last three years. It is an utterly magical place and I cannot wait to be back again this summer.

Back in December I was asked to shoot portraits of campaigner Phil Jones for @thetimes

It was a pleasure meeting Phil at his immaculate home just outside of Cardiff.
Since 2002 he has been campaigning for pension protections after the company he worked for went bankrupt.

“We lost not only our jobs and livelihoods, we lost the majority of our pensions- pensions we’d worked and saved for over a lifetime.”

Having worked in the steel industry for 45 years Phil took retirement in 2010 partly due to ill health which he believes was down to his workplace.

He meets regularly with other colleagues who are campaigning on behalf of the next generation.

Sadly many of them have passed away as a result of ill health. This also left their wives and families without the pensions they had earned. Some widows couldn’t even afford to bury their husbands.

It was a pleasure to meet Phil and hear his story. We took photos for about an hour and carried on chatting for a while over tea. The light was beautiful that day and Phil being a lovely gentleman made for a wonderful assignment. Thank you to @thetimes for the commission @ianhinfoto
