Hello all
On Monday evening Leon slipped into an unconscious state. After several tests, scans and assessments, his doctors have narrowed it down to likely a neurotoxic coma due to some of medications he has required to get him through his transplant, resulting in some swelling in the brain. It’s important to know this is reversible but will take time.
In order to support him through this, he has required intubation (breathing tube) and ventilation to protect his lungs and reduce complications. All his vitals are stable, and his blood counts are good. He is in the best care possible.
While he rests and recovers, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. And if you have time, please send voice notes or messages we can read / play to him.
Thank you all for your ongoing positive support, love and care.

Day 35 Post Transplant
The good part: the transplant has taken well, my blood counts are exceptional and my oncologist is happy with my progress. The bad part: almost seven weeks in hospital now, and sadly no definitive discharge date in sight. I am dealing with a hectic viral bladder infection that has no treatment, just have to ride it out, but can become very serious so need daily blood tests. And I have diarrhoea that can only be treated with high-dose steroids, a side effect of the transplant. I was supposed to go home over the weekend, but for now it seems like I might be here until the end of the year (if the above recovers).
Although I am working as much as I can between all the discomfort, the amount of time I can spend on it is limited. Which sadly means I will have to cancel some commitments that will have an intense financial knock-on effect.
If you have the means to help, please consider donating. The link is in my bio.
Lots of love from me, Terry, and our children, Jinx and Max.
