And another one! Last week, Beyond the Bassline: 500 Years of Black British Music won BEST TEMPORARY EXHIBITION OF THE YEAR.

Even though the show closed last August, it’s still sinking in how deeply it continues to resonate. Originally instigated by Dr. @mykaellriley, it’s been a joy (and a serious responsibility) to come on board as the lead curator to shape the narrative. One that disrupts. Provokes. AND Inspires.

There is much more that can be said about the process. Behind the glits and glamour there is a reality of what it means to do this work in Babylon as a Black woman. A reality that I’m still deeping. Nevertheless, we keep the frequency high in hope that more ones and ones can come to see the power of preserving our ting, liberating the archive, and finding ways to kick dung di narrative.
