Since Leap, Alisha has been working passionately as a teacher, and building her startup business to support other young leaders in Perth on their self-development journeys.
Alisha’s main takeaway from Leap was to surround yourself with eagles who lift you up. Inspired by the conference, she started her own Mastermind of five inspiring and motivated women, who she now calls her best friends.
“Leap was the catalyst for so many mental doors opening for me. It helped me eradicate many of my limiting beliefs and spark the start of so many impactful ideas. I’m now living a life I love and helping other people do the same.”

“From travel writer to polar bear conservationist, from bartender to running a smoothie bowl shop in Tanzania, and everything in between..
My life is a series of side quests, and I owe each one to LEAP.
I first attended LEAP in 2009 (!) and returned as a coach in 2017.
Why?
Because of one of the biggest lessons I learned as a shy, uncertain high school kid at LEAP: Say yes. Get involved. Take the opportunities.
Not just the obvious ones. The weird, wild, off-the-beaten-path ones.
Bartending for a year led me to train under top sommeliers and cicerones—a very handy skill when I’m now writing travel articles about craft breweries in Belgium or wineries in BC.
A marketing role with a national conservation org protecting polar bears took me to the Arctic, to the Yukon wilderness, to global conferences like IMPAC5 and COP15.
My work in environmental conservation brought me to Ghana and Tanzania, where I volunteered with local initiatives empowering young female entrepreneurs launching sustainable businesses (things like seaweed farming and upcycled plastics).
Returning to LEAP in 2017 and again in 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023, and 2024 let me connect with the kind of people who make me want to dream bigger.
So, what am I trying to say?
Let your curiosity lead you. Ask why, then go find out. Say yes to the things that challenge you, stretch you, and push you to grow. The path might not look linear, but the side quests are where the real magic happens. And LEAP gave me the belief that I could figure it out.”
