From a remote region of planet Earth, I observe and present the latest sonic creation by artist Lazly Bateman. Seikan no Kansokusha (“The Interstellar Observer”) is a manifesto of complexity and depth, defying the rigid categorizations of human musical genres. Comprising ten tracks, this work traverses techno, breaks, downtempo, and IDM, unveiling a sonic journey where gravity and chaos coexist in perfect harmony. The track titles, written in Japanese, evoke an immersion into uncharted space, where stars and galaxies become metaphors for evolutionary experiences and universal states of mind. From the cosmic overtone of Hoshiboshi No Kyoumei (“Resonance of the Stars”) to the golden coils of Ogon No Rasen (“Golden Spiral”) and the eternal stillness of Shizuka Na Hadou (“Silent Waves”), each track stands as an autonomous system of vibrations and dynamics. The combination of rhythmic complexity, harmonic power, and meticulous detail elevates this work beyond a mere album: Seikan no Kansokusha is an exploration of the interplay between humanity and the universe, a message transmitted through a wave of frequencies that transcends terrestrial boundaries. As always, my mission is to observe and study the creative expressions of Earth’s inhabitants. This album by Lazly Bateman marks a pivotal chapter in this investigation: a study of the evolutionary capabilities of the human mind and its connection to the forces that govern the cosmos.

We’re super stoked to announce that on the 28th of May OFF GROUND will be making it’s debut at one of the most exciting new venues, Very Small Club!
For this intimate listening session we want to take a slightly different direction compared to our usual parties, showcasing a different, more experimental side of our sound, which requires a slower, more pensive environment, than your typical club. With this in mind, we carefully curated a line-up to take you on a journey to the more obscure side of OFF GROUND:
Kaiten (@kaiten_music ) will be debuting his modular live set, full of heavy breaks, cinematic soundscapes and mechanical drones. Heavy machinery at it’s finest.
Kabi (@kabat_nik ) will showcase the intricate sounds of 90’s and 2000’s dub techno, mixed with occasional dubstep and electro cuts, all on wax.
Lazly Bateman (@lazlybateman ) will also be making his OFF GROUND debut, bringing a live set that is jam-packed with insanely delicate sound-design elements and atmospheres.
IDM fans are more than welcome.
Mind Materials (@mind.materials ) will be joined by Allan Elder (@allanelder.0 ) for a b2b of slow hypnosis, blending elements of Techno, IDM and Ambient music. Tense, but also introspective and extremely captivating.
The venue will be open from 8pm to 12am. Timetable will be announced on the day of the event. Entry is completely free. See you on the dancefloor!
