Nemah Hasan’s words brought me back to this drawing I made last year, and as her words + the image of a little paper boat resisting stormy seas joined together in my heart, a surge of hope returned reminding me that it isn’t over yet. There is still more that we can do, friends, and must do it.

{Transcript} Hello, friends! I’m hosting a sticker fundraiser to raise funds for the United Nations Relief and Work Agency for Palestinian Refugees (@unrwa @unrwausa). It’s a non-profit organization providing aide in Palestine right now. Their wonderful work is under threat of being banned by the Isræli parliament, so let’s help them out!

Each vinyl sticker is $5, can be found in my shop, (link in bio) and will ship free for US domestic and international orders on sticker-only orders.

At the time of this video, we’ve raised $95 already (UPDATE: We’ve now raised $300!), and it’s been donated to UNWRA, so thank you so much to everyone who’s already participated. Let’s keep it growing! Feel free to share this on to anyone you know who might like to participate!

Adding new layers to what I’ve learned of tea history as Zen shared some history of the vessels that hold our tea and the symbolism of heaven (lid), earth (plate), human (vessel) deepened how I think about this dear experience of tea.

Dwelling on the way roots grow unseen, stretching out in every direction, this exploration came while working with cut-puts from our printable color/journal/collage/found words sheet and an old Anthropologie catalog I had nearby. 🌱

Of dear things growing, past selves in stick figure form, a preschooler who preferred to be a Rose Scout instead of a Daisy Scout, childhood stories shared among siblings tucked beneath covers, rose tea garden jaunts with our mother, a boy who always stops to smell the roses, a lilting waltz to La Vie en Rose with said boy on a day of vows and kin and friendship.
