10 years ago you changed my life. For the first 5 minutes you didn’t have a name, your mother and I couldn’t quite agree on something during the pregnancy.
But meeting you felt familiar, like you’ve been here before.
“He still needs a name.” Your mother said as the euphoria of meeting you settled.
“Sebastian.” I said almost unconsciously, like your name pushed its way out of my mouth.
You’ve always given the world no choice but to accept that you belong here, even in those first moments of life.
Hold onto that sense of belonging.
We grew up together, your mother and I were 19 at the time we had you. We were, and still are, learning life at the same time as you.
I tried to be a lot of things I wasn’t, because I thought that’s what you needed. But you proved me wrong, you’ve shown me all you need from me is to be the real me, because the real me loves you so much.
The real me is imperfect, and he does the best he knows how to. Sometimes the only things he knows is how much he loves you.

“Taylor Momsen exists in a space most people never have to reconcile. For some, she will always be Cindy Lou Who, frozen in time at the center of a holiday memory. For others, she is the voice at the front of The Pretty Reckless, all grit, volume, and conviction. The distance between those two images feels vast, almost impossible, which is why the question lingers. Are they separate lives or different chapters of the same one. Is one a character that never let go, while the other is the truest version of herself. Or do they both come from the same instinct, just expressed at different ages, under different circumstances.
That tension is what makes her story compelling. Not the contrast, but the overlap. The idea that identity is not something you discard, but something that evolves, even when the world wants to keep you fixed in a single frame.
