⚡️MORE ABOUT THE FILMS⚡️
Don’t Be Long, Little Bird (2025, 23m) follows a story of the daughter of a displaced Palestinian family, who accidentally finds herself time traveling to 1930s Palestine, where she spends a few days with her great-grandmother when she was her age.
LA Rebellion: A Cinematic Movement (2025, 56m) Following the Watts Uprising, UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television enacted affirmative action policies to increase enrollment of students of color in its film program — a group historically underrepresented in the student population. The “ethno-communications” initiative to recruit students from Black, Asian, Chicano and Native American communities became a movement known as “LA Rebellion.”

Today, I’m thrilled/scared/excited/terrified to share a first look of a little film thing I’ve been cooking on for three years and FINALLY ready to share.
It’s a documentary called Always Chinatown that follows @welcome.to.chinatown and the amazing people behind it: @veeeeleeee @jenniferzhenyu @harry_trinh @_jacq___and the businesses they support.
And I’m also asking for your help. We’re launching a crowdfunding campaign on @seedandspark to help us get the film to the next stage. Get the link in the bio to read more about the film and support if you can. I’ll see you there!

still thinking of mother's day and all the ways this day also holds grief for many of us. especially thinking of mothers who’ve been separated from their families due to cruel immigration policies and politicians who intentionally scapegoat immigrant communities—when we fight to keep families together, we honor everything that motherhood stands for.
we deserve a future where every family has the freedom to stay together & to thrive. we’re living in a time where we have to protect ourselves, our loved ones, our communities, our neighbors.
one way to do that is to share Know Your Rights information with quite literally everyone you know—here’s a link with info in 19 languages. these cards provide essential information to help protect immigrant families and their allies: linktr.ee/know.your.rights.cards
help spread the word!

Whew, this past weekend! Congratulations to the whole team for taking home the LA Area Emmy for LA Rebellion: A Cinematic Movement.
The recognition is long overdue for the filmmakers who so graciously shared their story with us—Alile, Stormé, Ben, Luis, Mocte, Larry, Eddie. To the crew: you all made this film what it is: the conversational set-ups, the music, the archival, the rich pacing—thank you. As Alile and Stormé said, we hope you celebrate yourselves! And @carolpaik2, we missed you! And of course, thank you to the KCET Artbound team for championing this story in the first place.
Our film traces the lineage and power of student filmmakers of color who were determined to tell their own communities’ stories in their own way.
We tie a thread to the present through current day Palestinian student filmmaker @reemjub who continues to carry on that legacy.
And as we shared on stage, we hope this film reminds us of our responsibility as storytellers to bear witness, speak truth to power and move towards collective liberation and a free Palestine.
