Designed circa 1965 by leading British textile designer, Marianne Straub, this distinct moquette known as NORTHERN saw extensive application throughout the 1970s and 1980s, gracing the seating of London Underground's Northern, Piccadilly, and Bakerloo lines, as well as the city's iconic double-decker buses.

NORTHERN has become a renowned Kirkby staple, a bold geometric velvet which has been recoloured in a new vibrant palette.
Based on a 1960's design by Marianne Straub which was used across London’s transport network on the Northern, Piccadilly, and Bakerloo lines, Kirkby has reimagined the pattern at a larger scale in a cut and uncut velvet.
