This is not a story that began yesterday. It began nearly two centuries ago.
In search of survival, large groups of Tamil labourers were brought from Rameswaram in India, crossing through Mannar and travelling toward Matale in Sri Lanka. The journey itself became a road of death. Many perished while crossing forests and wilderness. Many were taken by wild animals. Many died unnamed. This, too, is history.
