JustAir Solutions
JustAir provides air quality insights to communities to support a healthier breathing environment for all.

1 in 10 kids has asthma. It’s one of the leading causes of school absences in the U.S.
And so much of it comes down to what’s in the air!🌬️
Kids in low-income communities are disproportionately exposed to poor air quality, and often have the least access to data to support their lived experiences.
Last month we spent Earth Day with students at Salina Elementary in Dearborn talking about exactly that. Every kid deserves to know what they’re breathing✅

🌎🌎This Earth Day, we’re celebrating the collaboration of our municipal and community partners to implement local clean air solutions!
In Grand Rapids, residents of the 49507 ZIP code have been able to continue their access to real-time, hyperlocal air quality data again this month, thanks to the City of Grand Rapids’ sponsorship of the community network.
The Grand Rapids 49507 Air Quality Project was launched by the Community Collaboration on Climate Change (@c4grandrapids) in partnership with JustAir in 2023. While the City provided permitting and promotional assistance, the project was funded by the Environmental Justice Data Fund.
Now, the City has stepped up to fund the network in recognition of the value of air quality data to improving residents’ wellbeing—especially in environmental justice communities.
Throughout this process of City investment in this work, JustAir has appreciated the support of City Commissioner @marshallkilg0re (pictured above🤩), @naacpgr, @scalesk of @scalesconsultingllc, and especially @citygrandrapids Office of Sustainability—as well as the resident subscribers who have requested the JustAir service continue.
The 49507 community air quality network is just one of the ways Grand Rapids community leaders are working collaboratively to care for residents’ breathing environments—while also caring for the atmosphere we all share🙏🙏

If you take a closer look at some of our air quality monitors… you’ll see the brand new signs @justairco installed! Can you name all these locations?🤔

Happy first day of spring!💐 It was a long and freezing winter, especially for many air quality monitors 🥶
After many false spring days (example pic below🤫), we are READY!
Here’s to longer days, warmer temps, and more time in the field 💛🛠️

VERNICE MILLER-TRAVIS‼️We are beyond grateful to honor one of the founding voices of the environmental justice movement this #blackhistorymonth ❤️
In 1987, she helped write Toxic Waste and Race in the United States, the landmark report that proved race — more than income or property value — determines where toxic waste ends up in America.
A year later, she co-founded @weact4ej for NYC’s first EJ organization 🌟
